Drill that BB

Why am I going to take a drill to my frame and put a hole in the bottom bracket?

This is why

I was blown away with how much water was in there. And this is from not too many wet/rainy rides or washings.

Hi Ashwin, I have drilled every frame I had. I found if I went too small the water tension would not let the water drain out on its own. Sorry I can't remember what size is best.

Ps Must be great to ride with a pro like Sue Hayward. You're so lucky!

Hi Alan,

It was neat to ride side by side with a pro/24hr world champion. But honestly, it paled in comparison to my rides this past weekend with good friends trying to ride each other into the ground.

I drilled both my steel commuter frames after the water accumulated in the bottom bracket of one bike, rusting the retainers (I really want to call them 'cups' but then, I'm an old fart) They were a bitch to get out, and of course the bearing cartridge was ruined too.
